A complete system
A BESS combines batteries with the conversion, supervision and supporting equipment needed for its application. Storage can move energy from the time it is generated to the time it is needed.
Define the job first
Backup, increased use of on-site solar and load management are different objectives. Start by stating the priority. The same cabinet size does not guarantee the same useful power or duration.
Plan the operating conditions
Discuss load profile, available space, ambient conditions, access and maintenance. Existing generators and PV equipment must be considered as part of the integration.
