Begin with the panel
Photovoltaic modules convert sunlight into DC electricity. Power-conversion equipment makes that energy useful to the intended loads. Batteries, where included, allow some of the energy to be used later.
The site matters
Roof area alone is not the design. Shading, orientation, structure, cable routes and the equipment location all affect what can be installed. Share clear site photographs and describe any planned building changes.
Prepare for an assessment
List your loads and the hours they operate. Separate essentials from items that can wait. This gives the designer a more useful starting point than asking only how many panels will fit.
