The starting event
Motor-driven equipment can need more power to start than to keep running. The starting method, sequence and other connected loads influence the generator response.
Bring the operating picture
Record the equipment names, ratings and which machines may start together. Include future expansion and any loads that cannot tolerate an interruption.
Ask for an assessment
A generator selection should account for the application and operating conditions, not just a sum of nameplate ratings. Provide existing generator details if you are changing or adding equipment.
